Custom Copper Bushing for Panama Canal Equipment
This project involves the manufacturing of custom copper bushings supplied for equipment operated by the Panama Canal Authority (ACP). Copper alloy bushings are widely used in marine and canal infrastructure equipment due to their excellent wear resistance and corrosion resistance in humid and marine environments.
The bushings are designed to support rotating shafts and reduce friction between moving components in heavy-duty mechanical systems. Copper alloy materials provide stable performance under high loads and continuous operation conditions.
These custom bushings were manufactured according to detailed client drawings and technical specifications to meet the demanding operational requirements of canal infrastructure equipment.
Yutung Industrial provides customized manufacturing of copper alloy bushings and marine metal components for shipping, port infrastructure, and canal engineering projects.

Material
The bushings were manufactured from ASTM C86200 copper alloy bronze according to the customer’s confirmed material specification.
Project Country
Panama, for marine use
Supplied for equipment used by the Panama Canal Authority (ACP).
Manufacturing Process
The bushing blanks were manufactured by centrifugal casting, followed by CNC machining of the inside diameter, outside diameter, chamfers, and other specified surfaces.
The casting and machining process was controlled according to the customer’s approved drawing, material specification, dimensional tolerances, and surface roughness requirements.
Surface Finishing
The confirmed surface roughness requirements were Ra 1.6 for the inside diameter and Ra 6.3 for the outside diameter.
For copper alloy components requiring CNC turning, bore machining, chamfer control, surface roughness verification, and detailed dimensional inspection, explore our custom precision metal parts manufacturing capabilities.
Quantity
The confirmed batch-production quantity was 400 pieces, following tooling development, sample production, and customer approval.
SGS Inspection
SGS Inspection and Sample Approval
The customer required two SGS on-site inspections during this project.
The first inspection was arranged after tooling development and sample production. Six samples were completed for dimensional, material, surface, and quality verification before batch production.
After the samples were approved, production proceeded for the 400-piece order. A second SGS inspection was scheduled before shipment to verify the completed batch according to the agreed inspection requirements.
