This project involved the production of custom UHMWPE seal retainers for an industrial valve maintenance project in Panama. The parts were manufactured from virgin white UHMWPE board according to the customer drawing, with CNC machining, drilling, edge finishing, dimensional inspection, and visual inspection before shipment.
Project Background
The customer required long UHMWPE seal retainer strips with multiple holes and machined slots. Because the parts are used in a valve-related sealing assembly, dimensional consistency, material performance, and clean machining quality were important for final installation.
UHMWPE is widely used for industrial wear strips, guides, liners, and sealing-related components because of its low friction, good impact resistance, low water absorption, and excellent machinability. For this project, the required material was virgin white UHMWPE.
Material Selection
The seal retainers were manufactured from UHMWPE board in virgin white color. According to the material test report, the material was checked for main component, molecular weight, hardness, static friction coefficient, water absorption, tensile strength, impact strength, elongation at break, and melting point.
The material certificate confirmed that the supplied UHMWPE material complied with the required material characteristics for this seal retainer application.
Manufacturing Process
The parts were produced from UHMWPE board according to the drawing. The process included cutting the long strip profile, CNC machining the required shape, drilling the mounting holes, machining the slots, and finishing the edges.
Because the part is long and includes repeated hole positions, careful dimensional control was required during production. The hole layout, slot width, edge profile, and overall strip dimensions were checked against the drawing before final acceptance.

Dimensional Inspection
Before shipment, the UHMWPE seal retainers were inspected according to the drawing. The dimensional inspection covered 37 checked positions, including overall length, hole spacing, slot dimensions, hole diameter, width, and other critical machined features.
Three samples were inspected, and the measured results were within the specified tolerance. The final dimensional inspection result was passed.

Visual Inspection and Packaging
In addition to dimensional inspection, visual inspection was also carried out before packing. The inspection covered material color and appearance, surface condition, machined edges and slots, overall straightness, hole and slot positions, quantity, identification, and packing readiness.
No visible defects affecting serviceability were found. The parts were packed with protective material to reduce surface damage and deformation risk during transportation.
Project Result
The finished UHMWPE seal retainers met the drawing dimensional requirements and passed material, dimensional, and visual inspection. This project demonstrates our ability to manufacture long custom plastic machined components with repeated hole patterns and full inspection documentation.
