A PTFE gasket is a sealing component made from polytetrafluoroethylene, widely used in chemical and industrial sealing applications.

Brief

The full name of the PTFE gasket is the polytetrafluoroethylene gasket. It is also called a PTFE gasket or Teflon (Teflon) gasket. The gasket is also called the washer.

The flat gasket, V-shaped gaskets, piston rings, ball valve gaskets, etc are made of polytetrafluoroethylene rods, tubes and plates by the methods of mechanically turning or cutting.

Important

Harshness

In fluid machinery (such as pumps, compressors, mixing kettles, centrifuges, etc.), the components with the most severe operating conditions are PTFE gaskets.

  • Accept axial force like a thrust bearing;
  • Dissipate the generated heat like a radiator;
  • Under high temperature, high pressure and easy corrosion conditions, static sealing is already very difficult, and it is even more difficult to complete dynamic sealing on a sealing surface of several millimeters during high-speed rotation.

Working Environment

  • Without an auxiliary system, we can only improve the sealing structure and improve raw materials. (The cost is high and the problem cannot be solved fundamentally)
  • In actual operation, there are almost no PTFE gaskets that do not require any auxiliary equipment. For example, series PTFE gaskets and high-temperature PTFE gaskets used in high-pressure applications must use corresponding auxiliary equipment.
  • (Through the auxiliary system) severe working conditions become sealing acceptable working conditions. (The performance of PTFE gaskets is greatly improved, the application scope is more extensive, the demand for sealing materials is reduced, and the cost of PTFE gaskets is reduced)

Properties of PTFE Gasket

PTFE gaskets offer excellent chemical resistance, low friction, and high temperature resistance.
They are widely used in sealing applications where aggressive chemicals or high temperatures are present.

It has good properties such as corrosion resistance, anti-ageing and non-conductivity. The PH value of PTFE is 0-14 (except for molten alkali metals and fluorine under high temperature and pressure). It can have good mechanical strength between -100℃~100℃

Manufacturing Ability

YT machine parts manufacture and supply the PTFE Gaskets by clients’ drawing, and do the full OEM service.
