This was a repeat-order project for an oilfield drilling equipment customer in Singapore.
The Insert Bowl 6608 No.3 was manufactured from cast steel according to the customer’s drawing, dimensional requirements, inspection plan, and API-related technical specifications.
Because this is a safety-critical drilling-tool component, magnetic particle inspection was carried out at three production stages to identify relevant surface and near-surface discontinuities before shipment.
The insert bowl was supplied without painting because the customer planned to conduct one additional MPI inspection before final finishing and installation.

This project involves the manufacturing of an Insert Bowl 6608 No.3 used in oilfield drilling equipment. Insert bowls are key components in rotary table systems and are used together with slips to securely hold drill pipes, casing, and tubing during drilling operations.
The insert bowl works together with slips to support drill pipe, casing, or tubing during drilling operations. The component required controlled cast steel quality, critical dimensions, contact geometry, and staged inspection according to the customer’s approved drilling-tool requirements.
The part was produced according to client specifications for use in oilfield drilling tools and requires compliance with API standards to meet the safety and performance requirements of the oil and gas industry.

The unpainted insert bowl was securely packed for shipment to Singapore, allowing the customer to complete the final MPI inspection and finishing before installation.
