Custom Dacromet Coated Steel Pins

This project involves the production of custom steel pins with Dacromet coating supplied to an automotive client in Australia. These pins are used as fastening and positioning components in mechanical assemblies.

The Dacromet coating provides excellent corrosion resistance, making the pins suitable for outdoor and automotive environments where protection against moisture and road conditions is required.

The parts are manufactured according to client drawings and specifications to ensure consistent dimensions and reliable mechanical performance.

We manufacture custom steel pins, bolts, shafts, and fastening components according to customer drawings, material specifications, hardness requirements, dimensions, coating specifications, and application conditions.

Process

The steel pins were machined from 4140 alloy steel according to the customer’s approved drawing.

The production process included material preparation, CNC machining, heat treatment, dimensional inspection, Dacromet coating, and protective packing.

Material

The pins were manufactured from 4140 alloy steel according to the customer’s confirmed material specification.

Hardness

The confirmed hardness requirement was 38–44 HRC after heat treatment.

Dacromet Coating and Surface Protection

The finished pins received a Dacromet coating according to the customer’s confirmed surface and corrosion-resistance requirements.

The specified salt spray test duration was 720 hours. The final coating thickness, appearance, and test requirements were controlled according to the approved technical specification.

Other surface treatments, including galvanizing, Geomet coating, and application-specific protective finishes, can be reviewed according to customer requirements.

Each coated pin was protected with plastic mesh to reduce surface contact and coating damage during packing and transportation.

Drawing-Based Automotive Pin Manufacturing

The pins were manufactured for an automotive customer in Australia according to the approved drawing, material grade, hardness, dimensions, coating, and packing requirements.

Before production, we reviewed the drawing, machining feasibility, heat-treatment requirements, coating specification, inspection items, and packaging method. Where required, 2D or 3D production drawings can be prepared for customer confirmation.
