Steel Wheel Sample Development for Vehicle Modification
This project involved the supply and evaluation of a steel automotive wheel sample for a vehicle modification company in Australia.
The customer initially selected our existing standard 17 × 8J wheel with an ET+20 offset. Supplying one standard sample allowed the customer to confirm the wheel size, vehicle fit, bolt compatibility, and installation requirements before investing in new tooling or proceeding with batch production.
After the sample was installed, the customer found that the bolt-hole chamfer did not correctly match the wheel bolts. The hole dimensions, chamfer, and related positioning therefore needed to be reviewed and updated before the production order.

Project Background
This was a sample evaluation project for a vehicle modification company in Australia.
Although we manufacture wheels according to customer specifications, the customer first selected an existing standard steel wheel in size 17 × 8J with an ET+20 offset. Testing an available wheel helped confirm the basic size and installation conditions while avoiding unnecessary tooling costs at the initial stage.
Quantity
The sample quantity was one piece. The customer used this wheel to evaluate the standard dimensions, vehicle installation, bolt fit, and overall suitability.
If the existing wheel structure could be adapted to the application, the customer could reduce or avoid the cost of developing completely new tooling.

The sample wheel was supplied in the standard 17 × 8J ET+20 configuration for installation and dimensional evaluation by the customer.
Sample Installation Feedback
After installing the sample wheel, the customer found that the bolt-hole chamfer did not properly match the wheel bolts used on the vehicle.
Before batch production, the bolt-hole diameter, chamfer profile, hole position, and related installation dimensions will be reviewed according to the customer’s bolt specification and fitting feedback.
A revised drawing or updated sample should be confirmed before the production quantity is released.
