Project Overview
This project involved a batch of custom adjusting spindles manufactured for an industrial maintenance order in Panama. The parts were produced according to the customer’s drawing and updated material requirement, with attention to thread accuracy, machined end details, surface protection, and dimensional consistency.
The final material used for this project was 42CrMoA alloy steel, selected for its strength and suitability for machined mechanical components requiring reliable performance.
Manufacturing Process
The adjusting spindles were manufactured from 42CrMoA round bar. Each part required CNC machining, external threading, machined flats, end slot machining, heat treatment, and zinc plating.
The main production steps included:
- Raw material preparation from 42CrMoA alloy steel round bar
- CNC turning of the spindle body and end sections
- External thread machining on both ends
- Machining of flats and end slots according to the drawing
- Heat treatment to improve mechanical performance
- Zinc plating for surface protection
- Final dimensional inspection before packing

Material and Surface Treatment
42CrMoA is a chromium-molybdenum alloy steel commonly used for mechanical parts requiring higher strength than ordinary carbon steel. For this project, the parts were produced from certified 42CrMoA round bar and then processed according to the required machining and finishing steps.
After machining and heat treatment, the adjusting spindles were zinc plated to improve surface protection during storage, handling, and use.
Inspection Before Delivery
Each adjusting spindle was protected with a net sleeve before final packing to reduce surface scratches during handling and transportation.
Before delivery, dimensional inspection was carried out on the key areas of the adjusting spindles. The inspection covered the overall length, thread length, spindle diameter, end diameter, machined end length, slot length, and slot width.
These inspection photos helped confirm that the finished parts matched the required dimensions before packing and shipment.
Project Summary
This project shows our capability to manufacture custom alloy steel threaded components according to customer drawings. From material selection and machining to surface treatment and inspection, the production process was controlled to ensure that the finished adjusting spindles were suitable for the customer’s maintenance application in Panama.
For custom machined alloy steel parts, threaded rods, pins, bolts, shafts, and similar industrial components, YT Casting can manufacture parts based on drawings, samples, or specific application requirements.
