Custom H59 Brass Lighting Components for an Austrian Lighting Manufacturer
These custom H59 brass lighting components were manufactured for an Austrian architectural lighting manufacturer. The parts were ultimately produced by CNC machining from solid brass bars, followed by a decorative surface machining process to achieve the required aesthetic appearance.
Initial Manufacturing Plan – Centrifugal Casting
At the early stage of the project, the parts were designed to be produced using centrifugal casting, which is commonly used for brass components with rotational symmetry.
However, during trial production we encountered machining limitations. Due to the complex external geometry and deep concave decorative areas, the cutting tools could not properly access certain surfaces, making post-machining extremely difficult.
Final Manufacturing Solution – Solid Brass CNC Machining
To ensure dimensional accuracy and surface quality, the production process was adjusted.
Instead of casting, the components were machined directly from solid H59 brass bars using CNC turning and milling. This approach provided better control over the geometry and ensured stable machining.

Decorative Surface Texture Machining
A unique hammered decorative texture was required on the surface of the parts to match the aesthetic design of the lighting product.
This texture was produced through a special CNC surface engraving process, creating a handcrafted appearance while maintaining precise dimensional control.

Project Result
