General
We customise the brass split pins for our Panama clients.
Project Overview
This project involved the production of custom brass split pins for a Panama customer.
The split pins were used as part of a bolt assembly set, where each set included:
- one bolt
- two thick washers
- two thin washers
- two brass split pins
A total of 60 pieces of brass split pins were produced for the order.
Function of Brass Split Pins
Split pins (also known as cotter pins) are commonly used as locking fasteners in mechanical assemblies.
They are inserted through a hole in a bolt or shaft and then bent outward to prevent the fastener from loosening during operation.
Brass split pins are often used when corrosion resistance and good machinability are required.
Manufacturing Process
The production process included:
- wire folding
- head forging to form the pin head
- dimensional inspection
- packing in plastic bag and box
All sizes were measured and verified before shipment to ensure the parts matched the customer’s specifications.
Quantity
60pcs.
We produce 30 bolt sets for our client, the split pin is only one of the items.
One set consists of one bolt, two thick washers, two thin washers, and two brass split pins.

Head of the brass pin
The head of the brass pin is big, so it can not be stamped round, it looks like a square shape.
