Powder Metal Sintering Metallurgy PM
PM’s high precision forming ability produces precision parts with the final shape, complex functions, and precision dimensions, it is finished without machining. PM is particularly suitable for producing large series with narrow tolerances. By producing parts with a uniform structure PM manufacturers are able to make products that are more consistent and predictable across a wide range of applications. PM Powder Metal Process Flow
Metal injection molding(MIM) Technology
Firstly, the solid metal or ceramic powder is uniformly kneaded with an organic binder to obtain a feed material. After granulation, an injection moulding machine is used to cure the feed material by injecting it into the mould cavity to obtain an injection under the condition of adding a thermoplastic resin (about 150° C.). Forming the billet, then removing the binder in the injection billet by chemical or thermal decomposition, and finally sintering the product through a vacuum furnace or an atmosphere furnace. After the part of the product is post-processed, it is subjected to a post-process to obtain the final shape and performance products.
Metal injection molding(MIM) Process
- The raw material powder used is usually between 1 and 20 microns;
- Low injection pressure, generally no more than 1000 psi;
- Low mould injection temperature, about 150C;
- Shrinkage of about 20% from the injected status to the sintered status;
- The final product density reaches 95%-100% of the theoretical density;
